A new major business event in Limassol, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Cyprus, is being organised by the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), following the successful first Italy–Cyprus Business Roundtable held last May. The new event, focusing on shipping and business relations between Cyprus and Italy, will take place on Friday, 9 October 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the DP World Terminal.
Speaking to “Entrepreneurial Limassol”, LCCI President Andreas Tsouloftas said that preparations are underway for a major business event in Limassol. As he noted, the new initiative will focus on shipping, as well as broader business issues. The event will be attended by representatives of the Italian and Cypriot governments and will take place under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Shipping. It is expected to bring together representatives and businesses from the shipping and wider business sectors of the two countries.
The business forum will be followed by a networking lunch, as well as B2G and B2B meetings, providing an opportunity for direct contacts between government and business representatives from Italy and Cyprus and for exploring new cooperation opportunities. The new event follows the first Italy–Cyprus Business Roundtable, which took place on 27 May at the LCCI premises, as part of the official visit to Cyprus by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani.
The May event aimed to strengthen economic and institutional dialogue between Italy and Cyprus and create new opportunities for cooperation. The discussions covered issues relating to energy and infrastructure, port development and the shipping sector, industrial technologies and defence, export and investment financing, as well as connectivity and logistics in the Mediterranean.
The event was attended by representatives of governments, institutional bodies and businesses from Cyprus and Italy. The event was supported by the Embassy of Italy in Cyprus, the Italian Trade Agency, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Invest Cyprus, the Cyprus-Italy Business Association and the Italy-Cyprus Chamber of Commerce. Antonio Tajani delivered the opening speech, while CCCI President Stavros Stavrou highlighted the significant prospects for further strengthening trade, investment and business cooperation between the two countries.
The new initiative by the LCCI and the Italian Embassy is expected to build on this momentum, with particular emphasis on shipping and the creation of new business partnerships between Cypriot and Italian companies.
