More than 1000 students from public and private schools across Cyprus had the opportunity to explore the sea and its importance through the European project CMMI – MaRITeC-X, in which the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry actively participates as a partner.
Elementary and secondary school students took part in science fairs, educational presentations, and other activities, where they learned about marine life, ocean protection, and career prospects in blue professions. Through these initiatives, they were able to discover the sea in an interactive and hands-on way, turning learning into experience.
The full report on the project’s activities for the period January – June 2025 is now available, showcasing all the initiatives carried out during this time.
The CMMI – MaRITeC-X project is funded with €30 million, of which €15 million comes from the European Union and €15 million from the Republic of Cyprus, aiming to develop new marine infrastructure and strengthen the blue economy in Cyprus.
