District Director of MIEEK-AITE Limassol
Every story begins with a decision. That is our motto for this year.
Post-secondary Institutes of Vocational Education and Training (MIEEK), as a form of Tertiary Education, offers high-quality certified and recognized Higher Vocational Education and Training Programs in emerging sectors, aiming to meet the strong demand in the labor market for technical professions. The future labor market relies on a core trio: knowledge – skills – competencies. This is exactly where Higher Vocational Education and Training steps in—to connect education with employment, and qualifications with the labor market.
Who is MIEEK for?
We address graduates of Secondary Education.
The programs are delivered at the existing infrastructure of Technical Schools in all districts, as well as at the brand-new, state-of-the-art "Absolute Institute of Technical Education" (AITE) located in Germasogeia. Starting this year, programs are also offered in the free district of Famagusta (Paralimni and Avgorou).

2025–26 Enrollment
We are currently in the enrollment period. We encourage all interested individuals to visit the MIEEK website (www.mieek.ac.cy) for more information and to submit their application to secure a place in the program of their choice. Applications are submitted online only, and the final deadline is August 21, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
Admission Criteria:
- A recognized Secondary Education School Leaving Certificate (approved by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry) is required, along with completion or exemption from military service (for male applicants).
- Students are selected through a point-based system governed by transparent, measurable criteria established by the Ministry.
Conclusion:
Choosing to study at MIEEK is a very important decision that should be made based on each individual's personal and professional goals and aspirations. We can say that MIEEK serves as a second chance institution for those who were unable to attend university, unemployed university graduates seeking new skills, and—most importantly—for young people from low-income backgrounds who wish to obtain a Higher Vocational Education and Training Diploma.
This is possible because, as mentioned earlier, tuition is entirely free, and most of the study programs are offered in all districts. Although it is not the only path to success, studying at MIEEK can open many doors to employment and provide valuable experiences that last a lifetime.
Let’s not forget this year’s motto:
"EVERY STORY BEGINS WITH A DECISION"
And it’s truly true—each person, based on the decisions they make, writes their own story. We wish the young people of our country good luck!
