Limassol, Goa Chambers in a new phase of cooperation

The recent signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) by the Presidents of the Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Limassol and Goa aims to further strengthen bilateral business relations between the members of the two Chambers.

The signing of the agreement was done by teleconference, in the presence of, in addition to the two signatories, the High Commissioner of India in Cyprus Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat, a representative of the Cypriot Ambassador in New Delhi, the Ambassador at the Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elena Rafti, the President Chrysilios Pelekanos and members of the Cyprus-India Business Association.

In a brief statement, which preceded the signing of the memorandum, the Limassol Chamber President, Andreas Tsouloftas, referred to the Chamber's long-term close cooperation with the High Commission of India in Cyprus and praised the role played by the Cyprus-India Business Association, bringing the two Chambers together. He also noted the common elements between Limassol and Goa (coastal areas, great tourist destinations, the strongest economic areas in their countries, producers of medicines and wines, etc.), expressing the belief that there are very good prospects for cooperation, which will be greatly facilitated with the creation, within the framework of the memorandum, of an open channel of communication between the two Chambers.

A short on-screen presentation of Limassol in the context of the ceremony was made by LCCI International Relations.
