The official confirmation that the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry recycles its waste at a rate of 97.9% and is therefore considered an organization that meets the requirements of zero waste to landfill, was recently received by the LCCI President Andreas Tsouloftas.
During of an event held at the Chamber premises, in the presence of, among others, the former Commissioner for the Environment Ioanna Panagiotou, and receiving the certificate from the head of TUV Cyprus Demos Demosthenous, Mr. Tsouloftas referred to the environmental awareness of the Limassol Chamber, noting that the principles of circular economy have been applied, out of conviction, at the LCCI for years. Therefore, he continued, both the certification as a Green Office in 2019 and the current one for Zero Waste, were, for the most part, a natural consequence and did not really require any additional effort.
The event ended with a brief presentation by the Chamber Senior Officer Anthia Papageorgiou about the actions and procedures implemented by the Chamber, as a result of which the goal of zero waste to landfill has been achieved.
