With the support of the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company, utilizing an Incentives Scheme of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the communities of the Limassol Region Agios Konstantinos, Kalo Chrorio, Sylikou, Pissouri, Arakapas, Kellaki, Fasoula, Mallia and Anogyra successfully claimed subsidy for the organization of traditional handicrafts workshops. The workshops offer the opportunity to participants to get in touch with traditional arts and crafts through various interactive activities while enjoying a day out in a picturesque village.
The workshops will take place from April to December and each workshop will include four or more different themes including Wicker Basketry, Pottery, Wood Carving, Mosaics, Painting, Hagiography, Creation of Shadow Theatre Figures, Decoration of Traditional Pumpkin (kolotgi), Niddle Work Creations, Knitting, Creation of Decorative Almond Tree, Recreating Cyprus Herbs on Stone, Soap Creations, Art with Local Pebbles, Knot Tying, Jewelry with Seeds, Works with Wood and Stone, Maintenance of the old Cypriot Bicycle (Karkantas). Visitors will have an opportunity to visit picturesque villages, experience the local arts and crafts and enjoy themselves participating in an interactive activity in an authentic, friendly and welcoming Cypriot environment. All workshops are offered free of charge.
