Agros's "Dowry" - A pole of attraction and development

Agros has powerful weapons in its quiver, to "flourish" further, as the Cypriot "land of rose cultivation", the new Community Head, Antonis Tsolakis, told "Entrepreneurial Limassol". The rose is the trademark of Agros, while the rose as a spoon sweet, that has been entered in the register of the European Union as a Product of Protected Geographical Indication, is recognized internationally, according to Mr. Tsolakis.

Meanwhile, an application has been submitted for the registration of Agros’s rose water, as a product with a protected designation of origin, for which, as the Community was told by the Ministry of Agriculture, there has been an objection, which is being examined by the competent advisory committee and a conclusion is expected soon. Every year, the two handicraft units of the community produce new products, including the ‘plum rose’ that "people want to know and buy", as Mr. Tsolakis told us, who hopes that this year the community Rose Festival will take place, after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

Another trademark is the crystal clear, and popular, Agros water, while handicraft units that produce sweets from the fruits of the area, as well as the sausage industries are flourishing. "Agros has an excellent climate without humidity, which is sought by the visitors, who flock to "Rodon" hotel and agritourism units" of the community. These units are complemented by a perfect infrastructure, including in restaurants and cafes. The local authority is trying to promote the necessary repairs in its indoor sports center, for which a study has been prepared by the Cyprus Sports Organization and expects the works to start, so that this facility can function as it should.

The community head told Entrepreneurial Limassol "that if all goes well, the construction of a football stadium of European standards, with floodlights and a track, will start this year, which will increase the attendance of teams for training purposes. A jewel for Agrow, is the re-modeled square of the famous "Kaura Fountain", combined with a playing ground for children.
