Ways to strengthen cooperation, with a view to promoting the development needs of Limassol, city and district, were discussed in the context of a recent meeting between the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and Limassol members of parliament.
Welcoming the members of parliament in the Chamber offices, LCCI President Andreas Tsouloftas, thanked them for responding to the invitation addressed to them and noted the importance of mutual exchange of information, coordination of actions and joint efforts to promote Limassol issues, whether these pertain to infrastructures or other projects. He also briefed them on a number of issues that remain pending for a long time, including road projects, and also referred problems faced by LCCI members, such as high and increasing port charges.
The MPs present at the meeting, Fotini Tsiridou, Nikos Sykas, Costas Costa, Andreas Kafkalias and Panikos Leonidou, positioned themselves on the issues raised before them, noting at the same time the importance of continuous two-way communication with the Chamber, which is essentially an agency for the development of Limassol and the representative par excellence of the Limassol business society.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the need to institutionalize meetings between them, both in a broader context, but also on specialized basis, on specific issues, with the participation of the Limassol members of the parliamentary committee responsible for each case.
