Limassol Chamber hosts Round Table Discussions with MEPs

Topics on the European Parliament's agenda that are of direct interest to the business community were at the centre of recent roundtable discussions hosted by the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The whole event, which was co-organized by the Limassol Chamber with the Office of the European Parliament in Cyprus and was part of a number of actions that the Chamber carries out this year on the occasion of its 60th anniversary, brought MEPs Lefteris Christoforou, George Georgiou and Costas Mavridis and Dimitris Papadakis, together with entrepreneurs from Limassol, to discuss issues such as the European Union budget, the revision of the energy tax directive, the European Recovery Plan and the Green Deal. At the end of the discussions, each of the MEPs presented his final comments and concluding remarks.

Opening the event was a welcoming address by the Chamber President Andreas Tsouloftas, who, after making a brief reference to the 60 years of the Chamber, praised the exemplary cooperation that has long existed with the Office of the European Parliament in Cyprus. He noted that it is from this cooperation that the event emerged, which was planned in a way that is mutually beneficial for the participants, with the entrepreneurs-members of the Chamber receiving precise information on the issues of the European Parliament and the MEPs listening , first hand, to the concerns and priorities of the business community.

Andreas Kettis, Head of the European Parliament Office in Cyprus, also welcomed his Office's cooperation with the Limassol Chamber, and spoke about the European Parliament and the importance of the work done at this level.
