He explained that the local authority will also create infrastructures which it will make available to the private sector to develop, since private individuals are already active in adjacent premises, with the distribution of traditional products. He added that with the creation of the Museum, along with the Cultural Center under construction, which will soon be completed at a cost of €1.25 million (it will have a seminar room with a capacity of 100 people), the attendance of visitors to the core of Kyperounda will drastically increase.
Regarding the guest houses included in the project, the Community Secretary indicated that they would enhance cultural events and exchanges made by the young people of the community. In the hostels, visiting artists will be able to stay for some time, create and stay in the community. According to Mr. Christofinas, in the traditional core, in addition to those expropriated and are to be renovated by the Community, other old houses are being repaired and converted into agrotourism accommodation by private individuals.
At the same time and gradually, the renovation of the roads and the central riverbed of Kyperounda is progressing. As the Secretary told us, the planning for the Old Neighborhood project has been completed and is estimated to cost around €10 million. "Essentially, a wider plan is being implemented with the aim of making the center of Kyperounta functional and giving even more life to the community", Mr. Christofinas concluded.
