The active participation of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in a conference of the World Trade Centers, which was recently held in Limassol with the participation of delegates from many countries, was crowned with success. The participation of LCCI was made possible at the kind invitation of the host organization, World Trade Centre Cyprus, which has been a member of the Chamber for many years. It included a brief presentation of the history of the Chamber, its aims and activities.
The main part of the LCCI's participation were two interrelated thematic areas, on aspects of major importance for international trade, which were carried out by Chamber members and associates. Specifically, with Lina Ellina, Coordinator of the Supply Chain Management and Maritime Studies Program at the Post-Secondary Institutes of Vocational Education and Training (MIEEK) in the role of coordinator, the issue there was a panel discussion on Supply Chain Management in post-pandemic Cyprus – Challenges and Solutions, with the participation of Constantinos Chrysikopoulos of Kazoulis Global Logistics, Mikellis Christou of Diplomat Cyprus, Andreas Panayi of Alpha Mega Supermarkets and Theonas Zantiotis of Medochemie, who after outlining how their own organizations have dealt with the effects of the health crisis and its ramifications, also tabled suggestions for the future.
Finally, Grigoris Gregoriou, of Island Oil, presented the topic Technologies and Trends Reshaping the Future of World Trade, highlighting the challenges facing international trade and the global economy in modern times where capitalizing on the great potential provided by high technology, in a variety of sectors, becomes imperative.
