The Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), under the umbrella of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and in collaboration with the other regional Chambers of Cyprus, is participating as a Partner in the European project DiGiNN, recognizing the critical importance of specialized knowledge in the field of digital transformation and innovation, as well as the revolution brought about by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the business world.
DiGiNN (Digital Innovation Hub Cyprus) is a consortium of 11 public and private organizations in Cyprus, selected to be part of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) network under the Digital Europe Programme 2021–2027. The program’s goal is to strengthen the EU's digital capabilities, support the widespread adoption of digital technologies by European businesses, public institutions, and ministries, and promote their use by citizens. The Cyprus hub is co-funded by the European Union and the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus.
The Cypriot EDIH hub operates as a one-stop-shop, serving the entire island through information points established within all regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry. “LCCI essentially acts as a connecting link between the hub and Cypriot small and medium-sized enterprises,” stated Mr. Andreas M. Antoniades, Officer at CCCI and Head of Promotion and Communication for DiGiNN, in an interview with “Entrepreneurial Limassol”. He emphasized that CCCI and the local Chambers fully understand the importance of digital transition and the need for businesses to upgrade their operations in order to remain competitive and meet modern market demands.

LCCI’s primary role within the project is to inform and raise awareness among businesses about the necessity of digital transformation. At the same time, it encourages companies to take advantage of the free services offered by the hub. As part of this mission, several informative events have already been organized across Cyprus, including in Limassol, with more scheduled in the near future. According to Mr. Antoniades, the response from Limassol businesses so far has been satisfactory, but there is still significant potential for greater participation.

He highlighted that businesses can join the program and gain valuable know-how to improve their operations through the use of advanced technologies such as High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and other Key Enabling Technologies like Rapid Prototyping, Robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). LCCI plays an active role in the DiGiNN project, supporting initiatives that promote innovation and digital transformation in the business sector. Through a series of actions, such as informational events and presentations to local and international visitors, LCCI actively promotes DiGiNN, helping to disseminate its objectives and results. The Chamber’s participation in conferences, general assemblies, and related events is a key means of advancing the principles of innovation and digital progress.
In parallel, the project is also promoted through LCCI’s social media channels, in articles published in the press, as well as in the Chamber’s monthly bilingual digital newsletter. LCCI's involvement in DiGiNN meetings and events, both in person and online, further demonstrates its strategic commitment to fostering a sustainable and innovative business ecosystem.
