Τhe new High Commissioner of India visited the Limassol chamber. The President of the Chamber, Mr. Tsouloftas thoroughly informed the Indian diplomat about the special economic characteristics of Limassol. He noted the fact that Limassol is essentially the main lifeblood of the Cypriot economy, with a huge contribution to the country's GDP. He mentioned the manufacturing/export industry, services, tourism, shipping and ship management. He also made special mention of the rapidly developing high-tech sector in Limassol.
Mr. Tsouloftas noted that beyond the daily support to the Chamber member businesses, the Chamber plays an important role in promoting a series of development projects in the city and province of Limassol. More specifically, Mr. Tsouloftas referred to the Chamber's continuous efforts to advance the Technological Park planned for the Pentakomo area for many years, which, he pointed out, will provide a significant boost to research and innovation.
The further strengthening of the bilateral economic relations was expressed by the High Commissioner of India. Furthermore, great willingness was expressed for organizing business events as well as business missions in India. The diplomat also expressed his interest for the Technological Park. The Limassol Chamber and the Embassy of India, agreed to maintain an open channel of communication, aiming to continuously inform all interested parties about the existing and future perspectives of bilateral business partnerships.
