JA StartUp Programme Launch
The startup ecosystem in Cyprus is in full bloom with an upward trend from 2021 onwards. Cyprus is now recognized as a key business centre in the Mediterranean, attracting large shipping and finance companies as well as start-ups. In this dynamic environment, a startup that chooses to start here acquires significant prospects, highlighting Cyprus as a privileged field for innovation and development of business ventures.
Junior Achievement Cyprus (JA Cyprus) for the fifth consecutive year continues its efforts to encourage business ideas and innovation, through the JA StartUp Programme, giving students the opportunity to develop their own company while acquiring skills that will help them in their career path. JA StartUp is a practical experience where students experience starting, developing, and running their own business, discover the wonderful world of entrepreneurship and work under real conditions. The Programme is offered free of charge to all students of all universities in Cyprus and is implemented every year with the participation of 20,000+ students across Europe!
Participants have the opportunity to compete in the National Competition, where the 10 best teams present their business idea to a live audience and jury. The winning team will have the honour to represent Cyprus at the largest entrepreneurship event in Europe, Gen-E, which this year will take place in Catania, Italy.
Through the programme, students will receive comprehensive entrepreneurship education, significant prizes, support from mentors from the business world, access to a platform with rich educational material, webinars by experts, networking opportunities and much more. The programme is supported by ASBIS, MetLife and the Research and Innovation Foundation.
