A number of issues of common interest were discussed during a recent meeting of the Executive Committee of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the British High Commissioner to Cyprus Irfan Siddiq.
Welcoming the British diplomat on his first visit to the LCCI, Chamber President Andreas Tsouloftas briefed him on the special characteristics of Limassol, which is essentially the driving force of the Cypriot economy. Mr. Tsouloftas referred to the services that LCCI offers to its members, as well as its active participation in the direction of promoting development and other projects in the city and district of Limassol. The LCCI President placed particular emphasis on the issue of the Technology Park in Pentakomo, for which there seems to be a new impetus lately, with the active participation of the Chamber.
The High Commissioner and members of the LCCI Executive Board also discussed issues of bilateral economic relations, where the need to target specific sectors, rather than general business meetings, was stressed. Concluding their meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining an open channel of communication to facilitate any existing, or potentially new, business opportunities.
