Limassol counts on Unity: Chamber, MPs, Mayors, University get together

A series of issues that concern Limassol were at the centre of a recent meeting convened by the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In the presence of district MPs, the Mayors of the City and Greater Limassol, the leadership of Cyprus University of Technology and members of the Limassol Chamber Board, , a wide exchange of views took place and coordination was agreed on various issues and projects which are deemed to be in a state prolonged stagnation.

One the agenda were the development needs of the Cyprus University of Technology, in light of developments in the B' and C' Poles, the Technology Park in Pentakomo, which has been pending for more than twenty years, as well as a number of necessary road and other projects in Limassol, some of which are essentially at a standstill (Phase 2 connecting the seaside road with Franklin Roosevelt avenue), while for others (northern bypass) some designs have progressed, but much remains to be done.

A number of other issues were also discussed, including the Archaeological Museum of Limassol, the need for improvement works at the Tsirio, stadium, and the long-awaited (and constantly postponed) revision of the Limassol Local Plan. It was decided to coordinate actions at various levels, in light of the common understanding that the state should do more for Limassol.
