Applications for services from the Central Knowledge Transfer Office are now open

Theodoros Loukaidis: "With the services of the Central Knowledge Transfer Office, RIF supports the emergence of Cyprus as a regional hub of innovation"

The Central Knowledge Transfer Office, which operates within the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), is accepting applications from today for the provision of specialized services for Knowledge Transfer and Commercialization of research results. The services are provided free of charge by experts of the META Group, who have extensive experience and recognized successes at the international level. Services provided include Intellectual Property Rights Assessment, IPR Scope Analysis, IPR Protection Strategy and Commercial Exploitation Prospects Assessment, as well as Technology Promotion and Negotiation Support for Knowledge Transfer Agreements.

All the actors of the ecosystem have access to the services, through three different channels:
Accelerated Process (Fast-Track) for beneficiaries of the Pre-Seed, Seed, Innovate (Pre-Seed, Seed, Innovate) Programs announced in December 2021 and the Co-Develop programs announced in March 2022.
Direct Entry for beneficiaries of projects financed by specific Programs of the RIF, which make it mandatory to contact the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Open Call for submitting applications for the provision of services for entities and natural persons who do not fall into the first two categories.
In addition to the services provided by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, RIF will provide funding for the cost of protecting Intellectual Property Rights, through the Program for Patent Vouchers (IP Vouchers), which will concern the acquisition, validation and protection of patents and other intangibles assets.

According to the General Director of RIF, Mr. Theodoros Loukaidis "In a constantly changing world, innovation is proven to be the key to business success. RIF, as part of its mission, now provides a comprehensive portfolio of Knowledge Transfer and Innovation services. We invite all inventors and intellectual property owners to take advantage of the free services of the Knowledge Transfer Central Office. I also encourage everyone who is interested in strengthening their capacity to innovate to participate in the trainings offered by the Central Knowledge Transfer Office and the Innovation Factory initiative.”

The operation of the Central Knowledge Transfer Office is financed within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Cyprus Tomorrow. Its services will function as complementary and reinforcing in terms of the R&D funding already granted by the RIF.

Applications are submitted through the IRIS platform.
