LIMASSOL: a paradise of special interest tourism

Limassol offers a wide range of experiences for all ages and tastes. The Limassol district has the privilege of having amazing wine routes. Additionally, the Limassol Tourism Board has developed Commandaria routes involving the fourteen Commandaria villages of the province. The Limassol region also has excellent cycling routes both in the countryside and by the sea. In the last two years, the Limassol Tourism Board has mapped twenty one new cycling routes available online. The necessary infrastructure for cycling including signage, parking and repair stations has been installed at points along the routes, while viewpoints have been highlighted.

The natural beauties of the greater Limassol area also make hiking trails stand out. With this in mind, the Limassol Tourism Board has developed hiking trails in Pissouri village, where one can enjoy a wonderful view of the Mediterranean, come across sheep and horses, rest under the olive trees and get to know the unique flora of Cyprus. At the same time, for visitors particularly interested in religious tourism, a 22.3 km long route was created along the villages of Gerovasa – Trozena, Arsos, Vasa Koilaniou, Omodos, Mandria and Pano Platres. Following the specific religious route, the traveler has the opportunity to visit churches, chapels, religious monuments, and get to know the customers and traditions of the place.
