Automatic Crimping and Capping Machine
This is a stand-alone capper that fits aluminium caps onto glass or plastic bottles. It could be used in conjunction with a liquids-filling machine or a powder-filling machine thus saving money and space for the company. The process begun with cap feeding, where caps were automatically fed into the machine via a sorting bowl and chute. The bottles were aligned using a conveyor and rotary platform. The machine placed caps over the neck of the bottle and tightened them using torque-controlled rollers thus forming also the threads so that the cap can be unscrewed and screwed back again. The capped bottles were then moved to the next stage of the production line.
In later years, child-proof caps were used that need simultaneously a downwards push as well as a turn, an ability that children do not possess until later in life. These child-proof caps were made of plastic, so this type of machine was decommissioned as it was designed only for aluminium caps.
