In the framework of the ZEST (Zero Emission Sea Transporter) project, the launching of the battery-driven electric vessel EVPLOIA APHRODITE was successfully completed on the 27th of August at Larnaca Marina.
EVPLOIA APHRODITE, designed by consortium partners CMMI, SignalGeneriX and FP Marine Limited, will act as a research platform for CMMI, as well as for national and international ecosystems by utilising its environmentally friendly and smart characteristics.
The Project CODEVELOP-GT/0322/0029 is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, through the Research and Innovation Foundation. Its objective was to design and construct a zero-emissions electric vessel for short-sea routes to address the decarbonisation challenges of the local coastal fleet of Cyprus.
Objective achieved then for CMMI and its partners in their attempt to address and solve one of the most important challenges faced by the Blue Economy!
