The Cyprus Shipping Chamber held on 5 September, in Limassol, a special seminar for its Member-Companies, during which distinguished speakers gave important guidance to the attendees, on the European Union Funding processes for the EU “Horizon 2020” and the Horizon Europe funding programmes, assisting them to pursue any possible research or innovative ideas they may have.
The panel consisted of the National Chief Scientist for Research and Innovation of Cyprus, Mr. Kyriakos Kokkinos, the Scientific Officer of the Research and Innovation Foundation, Mr. George Christou, the Planning Officer, of the Directorate General European Programs, Coordination and Development, Mr. Evgenios Epaminondou, the President of the Cyprus Foundation of the Sea (CYFOS), Capt. Eugen H. Adami, and Mr. Zacharias Siokouros, Member of the Board of Directors, of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute.
During the Seminar the panellists discussed the matter of EU “Horizon 2020” with the Chamber’s Members and gave examples of where research and innovation will be required for the Shipping Industry, assisting in its further greener development and decarbonisation.
