When was the company established?
It was set up in 1926 by the late Nicos S. Nicolaides and the operation continues by the Adolfos Kannetis family.
What your area of expertise?
Optical Nicolaides are active in the field of clear vision services. We also represent companies that manufacture Glass Frames, Eyewear Lenses, Contact Lenses and contact lens maintenance fluids.
What services are available to your customers?
We offer solutions that correct vision abnormalities such as myopia, presbyopia and astigmatism. We serve the public with 13 stores country-wide, fully equipped with special tools and machinery and the latest collections of Frames and Sunglasses from around the world. All of our stores are staffed with qualified optometrists and opticians that can provide solutions to a variety of vision problems.
How do you account for your emphasis on new technologies to cater to the needs of your customers?
The use of new technologies for the needs of our customers gives them greater protection, especially those who use computers. The latest BLU FILTER 420 technology increases efficiency, does not tire the user, increases staff productivity and, as a result, business profits. We also operate a modern Contact Lenses Laboratory and have what is arguably the most advanced equipment for correcting keratoconus, an abnormality of the cornea, by means of both rigid and hybrid lenses that are considered the most advanced method for addressing this.
How does your company contribute to the development of Limassol?
Our involvement at this level started early on and culminated in the donation to our City of the Theater Museum / Collection by Nicos Nicolaides, a gesture contributed to the transfer of the Cyprus Theater Museum to Limassol. The Museum is based at the Panos Solomonides Foundation in Limassol.
Nicolaides Opticians has also been a founding member of Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, of which we remain a member until today.
