Limassol Chamber - Indian High Commission Cooperation

Topics of common interest, with an emphasis on the possibilities and prospects of bilateral business cooperation, were on the agenda of a recent meeting between the President of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry Andreas Tsouloftas and the Second Secretary of the Indian High Commission in Cyprus Nandulal Bhookya. In the meeting, which took place at the Chamber, Mr. Tsouloftas briefed Mr. Bhookya on the special economic and other characteristics of Limassol that make it an ideal destination for foreign visitors and investors, noting among other things the high-standards infrastructure and the attractiveness of the whole environment at city and district level. He further pointed out the rapidly emerging sector of high-tech companies and Chamber efforts for the realization of a long-awaited Science & Technology Park, a project that may also be of interest to Indian companies, given India's outstanding track record and undeniable potential in this area.

For his part, Mr. Bhookya referred to the ongoing dynamic recovery of the Indian economy as the pandemic subsides, and to the achievements of the large Central Asian country in various areas, including renewable energy. He expressed the belief that there is great potential for further strengthening Cypriot-Indian economic cooperation. The two sides agreed to proceed, in the near future, with a presentation, to be held at the Chamber premises, of the Indian economy and the prospects it offers for trade, investment and other economic cooperation.
