The Troodos area is to make a dynamic re-entry in the tourist map of Europe and the Middle East, thanks to major new projects planned for the region. This time plans for the emblematic Berengaria in Prodromos will not remain on paper. Prime Property Group, which is behind the acquisition of the legendary hotel for the amount of € 2.2 million, has already commissioned a large architectural office to prepare a relevant architectural study, which is expected to be completed in about a year. The goal, according to the executive director of the company Lefteris Konstantinou, is the creation of a 5-star hotel complex, with respect for the environment and history, which will attract foreign and local visitors alike.
In addition to the restoration of Veregaria, the building which is currently in a dismal state, Prime will proceed with the construction of housing units (houses and apartments) within the plot, while the residence of Zena Gunther will be converted into a wellness centre, to the standards of large resorts abroad. The total cost will amount to a few tens of millions of euros. The news has been reason for smiles of optimism in Prodromos, as the reopening of Berengaria will predictably contribute to the creation of dozens of new jobs.
At the same time, the DTA Group is proceeding with the creation of a luxury resort in Platres, which will substantially upgrade the tourist product of the area. Guru Mountain Hill Resort will be built at an altitude of 1065 meters and will be an ideal choice for nature lovers. The resort will consist of luxury homes and apartments, suites and chalets of 1-5 bedrooms. It will have a lobby, restaurant, bar and café, bottega store, games room, lounge, parking, indoor and outdoor pool, gym and wellness centre, and 24-hour service. With an emphasis on quality and inspiration from the Alps, the luxury residences of Guru will be independent of the main complex, while the chalets, designed in a Scandinavian style, will offer magnificent mountain views.
