On 7th of March, the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company organized a site visit in the framework of the Civitas Destinations project (Horizon2020). The Site visit provided information regarding the measure ‘Increase cycling and walking in combination with special interest tourist activities’, as well as promoting hiking /cycling routes that have been designed and mapped in Pissouri area. Participants exchanged opinions and discussed mechanisms for the promotion of the routes.
Furthermore, participants took part in the site visit and had the opportunity to hike the "Genesis Aphrodite” trail. Signs have been placed along the trail providing basic information. Participants were excited with the beautiful landscape and plantation in the trail. They enjoyed endless views of the Mediterranean and came across sheep and horses that were a special addition to the experience. Also, they expressed their desire to take part in similar events in the future. The Pissouri Community Council supported the action.
